Power plant I&C system SPPA-T3000 now available aThe Siemens Energy Sector now offers for its world-leader I&C system SPPA-T3000 a Release 4.0 with extended functionalities, which go significantly beyond pure power plant I&C. Features such as mechanical equipment protection, thermodynamic system monitoring and a power plant simulator for training operating personnel can be fully integrated. A standard graphic user interface for a wide variety of applications is thus ensured. The plant operator’s hardware and maintenance costs are also reduced as well as costs for personnel training. With immediate effect the system will also be offered with a French and Chinese user interface in addition to German and English. Release 4.0.
SPPA-T3000 is a web-based power plant I&C system which can be integrated seamlessly into the existing IT landscape of a power company and which is capable of providing real-time information for a wide variety of users. With its Embedded Component Services technology it simplifies power plant operation and maintenance, and thanks to its intuitive technology is precisely tailored to the needs of power plant personnel. It also enables plant operators to run individual power plant units in a flexible operating mode exactly matching the demand. Since it was launched in 2005, more than 220 SPPA-T3000 systems have been sold worldwide and the system is now being installed in all new Siemens power plants. “With Release 4.0 we are once again demonstrating our competence in the field of power plant I&C,” said Karlheinz Springer, head of Instrumentation & Controls at Siemens Energy, Fossil Power Generation Division. “With the new functionalities the system offers intelligent, cost-efficient solutions for all types of power plants. Siemens is thus expanding its leading position in this field,” added Springer.
